2026-2027 Financial Aid Census Dates
Census or census date is the date used to determine "attempted units" for financial aid refunds and FA SAP purposes. The Pell Cutoff Date is the date that determines your enrollment status for the Federal Pell Grant. For most students, the Pell Grant cutoff date is the semester census date.

2026-2027 Financial Aid Refund (Payment) Dates*
- CHOOSE HOW YOU WANT TO RECEIVE YOUR FINANCIAL AID REFUND. Your financial aid refund will be delayed by 3 weeks or more if you do not chose how you want to receive your money.
- Non-Standard and Clock Hour Program refund (disbursement) dates are dependent upon program specific criteria and may not be the same as standard semester-based programs.
- Direct Loan borrowers must check their loan disclosure letter to determine the expected date of payment.
How to Read the Refund Date Table
Each Action Date has a corresponding Refund Date. You must meet the criteria listed below by the Action Date to be considered for a financial aid refund on the Refund Date.
- A grant, loan, or °®½´ÊÓƵ Promise Scholarship must be awarded on or before the action date. Check Financial Aid in Self Service on or before the action date to determine whether you have been awarded funds.
- New grants that are awarded for a prior (retroactive) semester during an academic year are paid differently than current semester grants. Check Refund Type for earliest refund date for retroactive grant payments. Only Federal Pell Grant, Cal Grant, Student Success Completion Grant (SSCG), and °®½´ÊÓƵ Promise Scholarships may be paid as a retroactive award.
- You will only be paid for classes that you are enrolled in at the census/Pell cutoff date (see the Important Payment Information page for additional information).
- Direct Loan refunds may be paid differently than grant payments. A loan disclosure letter with expected loan payment dates will be mailed to you after your loan has been awarded.
- If you do not attend a late start class, but received financial aid funds for that class, you may be required to repay some or all of the funds received.
You must be in good Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress standing in order to receive a financial aid refund.
