Academic & Counseling Support

EOPS provides personalized support for students who have experienced educational or economic barriers to college success. Students in EOPS receive dedicated counseling, educational planning, priority registration, transfer and career guidance, and access to additional resources designed to help them achieve their academic goals. EOPS works closely with students throughout their educational journey to promote persistence, graduation, and transfer success.

DSPS provides accommodations and support services for students with documented disabilities. Services may include academic accommodations, assistive technology, alternate media, counseling, learning disability support, and assistance accessing campus programs and services. DSPS works with students to create individualized accommodation plans that support academic success.

°®½´ÊÓÆµ counselors help students develop educational plans, explore majors and careers, prepare for transfer, understand graduation requirements, and navigate academic challenges. Appointments are available in person, by phone, or virtually, and students are encouraged to meet with a counselor regularly throughout the semester.

Financial Assistance

The Financial Aid Office helps students access grants, scholarships, loans, work-study opportunities, and fee assistance to help make college more affordable. Staff can assist with completing the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA), understanding financial aid eligibility, and navigating special circumstances that may affect a student's aid package.

CARE provides additional support for single parents participating in EOPS who are receiving public assistance. Eligible students may receive assistance with books, transportation, child care, counseling, and other support services that help them remain enrolled and successfully complete their educational goals.

The CalWORKs Program supports students who receive county CalWORKs benefits by providing academic counseling, career planning, priority registration, work-study opportunities, referrals, and financial support services that promote educational and career success.

The Basic Needs Center offers emergency grant assistance to help students experiencing unexpected financial hardships that may interfere with their ability to remain enrolled. The Basic Needs Center also connects students with additional campus and community resources to provide ongoing support.

Child Care

The Child Development Center provides high-quality infant, toddler, and preschool care in a safe, nurturing environment located on the °®½´ÊÓÆµ campus. The program offers developmentally appropriate early learning experiences that support children's growth while helping student parents balance their educational goals with family responsibilities. Enrollment is available for eligible families based on program requirements and space availability.

The Basic Needs Center provides a welcoming, stigma-free space where students can access resources that support their academic and personal success. Services include food assistance, professional and casual clothing through the campus clothing closet, CalFresh application support, emergency grants, housing resources, transportation assistance, technology support, health and wellness resources, and referrals to campus and community services. The center is committed to helping students meet their basic needs with dignity, compassion, and equitable access to support.

Health & Wellness

°®½´ÊÓÆµ provides private, secure lactation rooms to support students who are breastfeeding or expressing milk while attending classes, studying, or participating in campus activities. These spaces offer a clean, comfortable, and private environment to help student parents continue their educational goals while meeting the needs of their families.

°®½´ÊÓÆµ partners with MENTIS to provide free, confidential mental health counseling for currently enrolled students. Licensed therapists offer in-person and virtual appointments to help students manage stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships, and other personal challenges. Students can self-refer or be referred by faculty or staff, and services are available in both English and Spanish.

The Student Health Center provides free, confidential medical services to currently enrolled students to support their health and academic success. Services include evaluation and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries, physical exams, pregnancy testing, emergency contraception, select prescription and over-the-counter medications, blood pressure checks, tuberculosis screening, telehealth appointments, sexual and reproductive health services, and referrals to community providers. No insurance is required for most services.

Advocacy & Safety

Campus Police works to maintain a safe and secure learning environment for the Napa Valley College community. Services include emergency response, crime prevention, safety escorts, emergency notifications, vehicle assistance, lost and found, and support during campus emergencies. Officers are available 24 hours a day to assist students, employees, and visitors.

The CARE Team provides coordinated support for students experiencing personal, academic, or behavioral concerns that may impact their well-being or success. Through a collaborative, non-disciplinary approach, the team connects students with campus and community resources, offers early intervention, and helps address concerns before they become larger barriers to student success. Referrals may be submitted by students, faculty, staff, or community members.

The Title IX & Civil Rights Office helps ensure all students have equal access to educational opportunities free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. The office responds to concerns involving race, ethnicity, national origin, disability, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy and parenting status, and other protected characteristics. Staff provide supportive measures, information about student rights, referrals, and connections to campus and community resources.

River Trail Village is °®½´ÊÓÆµ's on-campus housing community, offering the convenience of living close support services and classes. The community includes family apartment options designed to accommodate students with children. Living on campus can help reduce commuting time while providing a stable and supportive environment for balancing school and family responsibilities.
